The Civil Guard of Tías arrested on the 15th a person with the initials J.D.B., of Irish nationality and 31 years of age, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of robbery and theft of use of a vehicle, whose owner left it parked on Varadero Avenue in Puerto del Carmen, but open and with the keys in the ignition.
The police action began around 08:30 on the 15th, when the agents stopped the car, which was being driven by an undocumented person of Irish nationality. Then they called the person who was listed as the owner, who confirmed that he had not lent it to anyone at any time. However, he admitted that he had left it parked on the public road without closing it and with the key in the ignition the night before when he arrived at his home.
Thus, he immediately went to the Civil Guard facilities to file a complaint, while the agents returned his vehicle and arrested J.D.B. The police proceedings and the detainee have been placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court number 1 of Arrecife.
