An omelet and two potato salads from the Arrocha Grill have tested positive for salmonella in tests carried out by the Public Health area of Lanzarote, which will now be sent to Gran Canaria for confirmation.

"The suspicions are focused there and now it has to be confirmed in Gran Canaria", said the director of the Lanzarote Health area, Noelia Umpiérrez. In addition, she confirmed that two of the six minors who were admitted for salmonella poisoning to the Molina Orosa Hospital, and whose ages ranged from two to 15 years of age, remain hospitalized. "I imagine they will still have symptoms and will be under observation, but not due to complications," she specified.

In addition, the Ministry of Health has indicated that since last Friday, when it raised the total number of affected to 31, no new cases of intoxication have been registered.

Precisely, this Monday marks a week since the Health area of Lanzarote ordered the cessation of activity of the Arrocha Chicken Grill in Playa Honda, after the emergency service of the Molina Orosa Hospital attended to the first intoxicated by salmonella a day before, who had in common having consumed products purchased in said establishment, which remains closed to the public.
