An 8-year-old boy, of British nationality, is seriously injured after falling through a three-meter stairwell in a shopping center in Playa Blanca. The incident took place at approximately 10:30 p.m. this Saturday.
At that time, a call was received at the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 alerting of the incident, and emergency personnel were transferred to the scene. The first assistance was provided by the doctor and nurse of the health center together with the personnel of the basic life support ambulance of the SUC. The health personnel who assisted him reported that he was suffering from severe traumatic brain injury. Given the severity of the injuries he presented, he was stabilized and transferred in a medicalized ambulance to the airport and there he was evacuated in the medicalized helicopter directly to the Maternal and Child Hospital of the Canary Islands, on the island of Gran Canaria.
The Local Police collaborated with the health resources and carried out the appropriate procedures.
