An 80-year-old woman of German nationality has died by drowning on Playa Grande in Puerto del Carmen this Monday, according to the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands.
At around 3 p.m., 112 received an alert reporting that the beach's lifeguards were performing resuscitation maneuvers on a woman who had been rescued from the water in front of the lifeguard post on the aforementioned beach, so the necessary emergency resources were activated "immediately."
Upon arrival, SUC personnel confirmed that the affected woman was in cardiorespiratory arrest, so they continued with basic and advanced resuscitation maneuvers, but without success, so they could only confirm her death.
The Local Police collaborated with the health resources, while the Civil Guard took charge of the corresponding procedures.
