About ten people were admitted to the Molina Orosa Hospital last Saturday after suffering intoxication from possible involuntary cannabis use. According to those affected, the drug could have been hidden in a paella they shared that noon in a restaurant in Arrecife.
Shortly after the meal, they all began to suffer dizziness and vomiting, so they went to the emergency room. However, this Sunday only two remained in the hospital and they have also been discharged.
While the facts are being investigated, the owners of the restaurant deny any responsibility for what happened, although they acknowledge that Public Health was going to return to the premises this Monday "as a protocol".
Apparently, those affected were taking a professional course this Saturday, so they ordered a paella to eat together in this place. According to sources close to the case, they did not even consume alcohol at lunch, but they did test positive for cannabis afterwards. They themselves attribute it to the paella, which was the food they all shared, although this extreme has not been confirmed with certainty at the moment.
