Since the bankruptcy of the German tour operator FTI Group in 2024, the insolvency administrator, Axel Bierbach, has been looking for a buyer for the hotel management company Meeting Point Management Holding, an independent company not affected by the insolvency.
Last year, the tourist information agency Hosteltur, advanced the interest of the company BlueSea Hotels (Portobello Capital), owner of three hotels in Lanzarote.
According to the newspaper El Confidencial, once the commercial court number 3 of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has approved the restructuring process, BlueSea Hotels assumes the debt of the restructuring plan approved by the creditors.
The management company that worked for FTI operated five brands: Labranda Hotels & Resorts, Design Plus Hotels, Kairaba Hotels & Resorts, Lemon & Soul Hotels and MP Hotels, which add up to a total of 16 hotels in the Canary Islands.
The first of them, Labranda, has four hotels in Lanzarote. In Puerto del Carmen they are Playa Club, Los Cocoteros and El Dorado. It also has in Playa Blanca the Alyssa Suite Hotel.
BlueSea Hotels has 28 hotels in Spain and three of them are in Lanzarote: the BlueSea Los Fiscos in Puerto del Carmen, as well as the BlueSea Costa Teguise Gardens and the Blue Sea Costa Bastián, both in Costa Teguise.
