The National Police have arrested G.P.L. in Arrecife, a 33-year-old woman with numerous police records, as the alleged perpetrator of a theft. The owner of a mountain bike left his house leaving the garage door open, at which point the arrested woman took the opportunity to steal it.
A National Police patrol, which was carrying out prevention work in Arrecife, was called by a man. He pointed out to the agents that when he left his house he had forgotten to close the garage door and that when he returned his mountain bike, valued at 749 euros, had been stolen.
The police carried out a search of the surrounding area and, after a few hours, located a woman riding a bicycle along a street in the capital of Lanzarote that fully matched the description provided by the owner.
Therefore, the woman was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a theft and placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority, after the corresponding police report was drawn up. The recovered bicycle was returned to its owner.
The police intervention was carried out by agents from the Arrecife Police Station.
