A woman gives birth in an SUC ambulance, with the help of the driver and the health technician, while being transferred to the hospital, around 05:13 this Saturday.
The woman, 27 years old, and the newborn, were finally transferred in good health to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.
At the time indicated above, an alert is received at the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands from the Local Clinic of Playa Blanca requesting an ambulance to transfer a pregnant woman, at term, to the hospital. From that moment, the SUC activated a basic life support ambulance to carry out said transfer to the hospital.
When the ambulance had been traveling for 30 minutes, near Arrecife, the woman went into labor, so the ambulance personnel were forced to stop the vehicle to assist her with the collaboration of the SUC coordinating doctor on duty in the 1-1-2 operating room.
The health technician and the ambulance driver helped the woman give birth to a baby who was born in good health. After the delivery, the SUC ambulance personnel continued their journey to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital, where both the mother and the newborn arrived in optimal health.
