A woman from Lanzarote who resides in the Basque Country has reported being the victim of a brutal attack by her partner, which has jumped to the national press. "If I don't jump out the window, he'll kill me," says Rebeca in statements made to Telecinco.
The events, according to various media outlets, took place in the early hours of Monday in Basauri (Vizcaya) at their home, from which the young woman managed to escape by jumping out the window and climbing down the facade of the building after receiving "punches" and "grabs".
?"He started hitting me against the sofa, I tried to defend myself, but he got on top of me, grabbed me by the neck and pulled my hair. I saw myself dead there, I couldn't scream," says the young woman in other statements, in this case made for La Sexta.
In a photograph published on social networks, where she explains that she currently resides in the Basque Country but is from Lanzarote, Rebeca shows the consequences of the attack. "I am a victim again, but at least I have a voice to tell it," she writes next to the image, in which she is seen with a swollen and bruised eye and various wounds on her face and neck.
The alleged aggressor, a 30-year-old Brazilian national with a criminal record, was arrested on Monday morning by the Ertzaintza, according to the national press.
