An unidentified woman has died after suffering a possible drowning in Playa Grande in Puerto del Carmen. At approximately 04:30 hours, an alert was received at the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands, reporting that some people had rescued a woman from the sea who was floating in the water.

Agents of the Local Police, the Civil Guard and two ambulances of the Canary Emergency Service (SUC), one with basic life support and one with medical support, have moved to the place.

After verifying that the affected person was in cardiorespiratory arrest, a coordinating doctor from the SUC, present in the 1-1-2 operating room, provided teleassistance so that the people who were at the scene began to perform basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers. Subsequently, the SUC personnel continued to perform advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers without obtaining results and confirmed the death of the rescued woman.

The Local Police has collaborated with the rest of the emergency services.

The Civil Guard has guarded the body of the deceased until the arrival of the judicial authority and has instructed the corresponding procedures.
