A woman has died this Tuesday after being dragged by the water in the Fañabé Alto ravine, in the south of Tenerife, according to the 112 emergency service, while another woman in trouble was rescued alive.
According to the 112 emergency service, around 4:30 p.m. local residents saw how the water dragged two women in the ravine and were able to rescue one of them, a 17-year-old girl who was transferred to a health center.
The other woman could not be located, so 112 notified the National Police, Fire Department, Emergency Intervention Group, Canary Health Service and Local Police.
The firefighters finally located the woman, who was in cardiorespiratory arrest, and performed resuscitation maneuvers on her, although when the staff of the Canary Emergency Service arrived, they could only certify the death.
The emergency and security services do not know for the moment the identity or other data of the deceased woman.
This is the first victim as a result of the wind and rain conditions affecting the Canary Islands, which is in a state of alert due to a storm that mainly affects the southwest areas of the Islands.
