The tragic accident that occurred last Sunday on the Puerto del Carmen ring road, near the back of the Institute, has claimed a new victim. Nicolás Corujo, who was admitted to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital in very serious condition after the incident, passed away on Tuesday morning at the health center.
His death adds to that of the two women who lost their lives at the scene after the head-on collision with another vehicle. One of the deceased, María Encarnación Navarro, was Nicolás' wife, and her sister-in-law, Eulogia González, who also lost her life, was traveling with them.
The three were in the same vehicle when, at around 7:30 p.m., they collided with another car in which a man and a woman, 38 and 30 years old respectively, were traveling, who were apparently on vacation on the island and suffered minor injuries.
The marriage of Nicolás and María Encarnación leaves two children, while Eulogia, who had been a widow for years, also had a daughter who was currently studying at the university.
