A 70-year-old man was recovered from a cardiorespiratory arrest after suffering choking in a hostelry in Playa Blanca. The incident occurred at 18:52 hours and was attended by the Canary Emergency Service (SUC).
The Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert reporting the choking and immediately activated the necessary emergency resources. Upon arriving at the scene, the SUC personnel confirmed that the affected person was in cardiorespiratory arrest and proceeded to perform advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers.
Thanks to the rapid intervention, the man was stabilized and transferred in serious condition in a SUC medicalized ambulance to Dr. José Molina Orosa Hospital. A basic life support ambulance and the Local Police also participated in the operation.
