National Police agents have arrested a 46-year-old man, with 22 police records, as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery inside a vehicle in Arrecife.
The events were triggered after a man called the 091 telephone number, reporting that while his vehicle was parked on a street in the town of Arrecife, unknown persons had broken two windows of the vehicle and had stolen a bag with money, a mobile phone and documentation from him.
A police investigation was thus initiated, which allowed the identification of the alleged perpetrator of the events, a 46-year-old man with 22 police records.
Therefore, after being located in the capital of Lanzarote, the individual was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of a robbery with force. After the corresponding police report was prepared, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
This intervention is part of the "Motor19" police plan, currently active in the province of Las Palmas.
Safety tips
The National Police has provided a series of security tips to avoid or reduce the possibility of being victims of one of these crimes.
To do this, it advises to make sure to close all doors and windows of the vehicle when leaving it and use anti-theft devices both in motorcycles and in vehicles that do not have an electronic immobilizer, such as steering, gearbox or brake disc locks.
Likewise, the National Police recommends never leaving objects visible from the outside such as bags, mobile phones, money, etc.
