Agents of the National Police of Arrecife have arrested a 30-year-old man as alleged perpetrator of three crimes of sexual assault against minors. The defendant has no police record.
On November 20, the National Police operations room received a call to the 091 telephone number from a man stating that he had located a person who days before allegedly sexually assaulted his children on public roads.
Police officers from the U.F.A.M (Family and Women's Care Unit) immediately went to the referenced place, where they located the caller, who was holding a person. The victim told the officers that days before, his two children along with a friend were playing when a man approached them and kissed them on the mouth, grabbing them by the neck. When the minors told him what happened, he tried to locate the aggressor who had hurriedly left the place.
When going with his children to do the shopping, one of them recognized this person who was outside the store and also, was wearing the same clothes as on the day of the assault, so he immediately called the police and detained him until the arrival of the agents.
Therefore, the agents proceeded to identify the alleged perpetrator, who did not cooperate with the police at any time. Once in police custody, it was possible to find out his full identification and also, he was in an irregular situation in our country, so he was immediately arrested for three crimes of sexual assault.
The detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
