A garbage truck from the Yaiza City Council cleaning service overturned in La Geria on Wednesday morning.
According to CECOES, the incident took place around 08:30 hours, near the La Geria Winery. Firefighters from the Security and Emergency Consortium, an SUC ambulance and the Civil Guard, as well as a Road Conservation team from the Lanzarote Cabildo, have moved to the scene.
The truck left the road, according to Residuos Lanzarote, when the driver tried to avoid an all-terrain vehicle that crossed the road to enter a dirt road. The driver of the all-terrain vehicle had "an anxiety attack due to the accident", according to the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium. However, she has refused to be transferred to a hospital.
