A lithium battery from a drill exploded in a house this Wednesday, causing a lot of smoke in a house in Arrecife, as reported by the Emergency Consortium. The owners of the house had to be transferred by SUC ambulance to a health center for having inhaled smoke.
The incident occurred at around 8:30 p.m. when CECOEs was alerted that explosions were occurring due to a battery in Palencia street in the capital of Lanzarote.
Agents of the National Police, firefighters, Local Police and Civil Protection went to the scene. When they arrived, the firefighters verified that explosions were no longer occurring, removed the remains of the battery and submerged it in water, and then ventilated the house.
