A collision between a truck and a vehicle caused major traffic jams on the LZ-2 road connecting Playa Blanca with Arrecife during the afternoon of last Thursday. The accident occurred around 3:00 p.m. near the camel roundabout in Yaiza, and involved the truck driver, the vehicle driver, a pregnant woman, and two children.
The truck driver was hit by the car in the rear of the vehicle, which caused him to brake abruptly, causing damage to the truck driver's body. Among them, he suffered lumbago and multiple contusions in the neck. This is revealed by the injury report to which La Voz has had access. An ambulance and several doctors who happened to be passing by this road intervened in the area.
As confirmed by the Emergency Coordination Center to La Voz, the pregnant woman did not present injuries at the time of the accident, but was transferred in a basic life support ambulance to the hospital to be checked.
Agents of the Civil Guard and personnel of the Canary Islands Emergency Service intervened in the incident.
