The body of a man has been found floating in the waters of the port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, a few meters from an oil platform docked at the Reina Sofía dock, the Civil Guard reported.
The lifeless body belongs to a white adult male, of normal build and about 40 years old, who was dressed and undocumented and showed no signs of violence.
The body was found around 6:45 p.m. this Tuesday and was transferred to the Forensic Anatomical Institute to perform the autopsy.
The Security Forces estimate that the man died a few hours before being found and do not rule out that he may be a crew member of a merchant ship or fishing boat docked in the port of the capital of Gran Canaria.
