A 7-year-old girl has died and six people have been injured in a fire that occurred early this Thursday morning, in a house in San Juan de La Rambla, in Tenerife, according to the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (Cecoes) 1-1-2.

The events occurred at around 1 a.m., when 1-1-2 received a call alerting that a fire was taking place in a three-story building on José Antonio Avenue, next to the old Town Hall of this municipality of Tenerife.

Members of the Fire Consortium went to the scene and were in charge of extinguishing the fire, as well as the sanitary personnel of four ambulances of the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) who attended to the six injured people, although they could not do anything for the life of the minor.

The affected are a 43-year-old woman, who presented trauma to the lower limbs of a less serious nature, who was evacuated to a hospital center in the North of the Island and a 33-year-old man, with hip and hand trauma of a less serious nature, who was also transferred to that same hospital.

Four firefighters were also injured when the roof of one of the floors of the house fell on top of them: one 31 years old with burns on the face, neck and hands of a less serious nature; another 30 years old with a shoulder dislocation of a mild nature; a third with an incisive wound in the forearm of a mild nature and the last one with erosions in the upper limbs of a mild nature.

Three of the four firefighters were transferred in ambulances to the same hospital center as the other two people.

The Civil Guard was in charge of securing the area and carrying out the appropriate procedures.
