Last June of 2025, 257,221 tourists arrived in Lanzarote, 2.2% more than those who arrived in the same month of 2024, according to the Statistics of Tourist Movements at the Borders of the Canary Islands.
The growth was more moderate than in the Canary Islands as a whole, which reached a rise of 5.3% in international arrivals, and 4.7% from the peninsula.
Tenerife was the island that received the highest number of tourists with 542,881, which represents 4 out of every 10 tourists who arrived. It is followed by Gran Canaria (23.5%), Lanzarote (19.1%) and Fuerteventura (15.4%).
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, highlighted that Lanzarote was the island that “most contained” the growth in tourism in contrast to other islands or the Peninsula.
“Lanzarote once again demonstrates that it prioritizes a model of responsible and balanced tourism: we are growing, yes, but in a measured way. With an increase of 2.2%, we are the island that most moderates its growth in the Canary Islands in the month of June. This control responds to our strategy of sustainability and quality, which prioritizes value over volume”, said Betancort.
“Indeed, this approach has also been evident in previous months, where Lanzarote has led the containment of growth, without ceasing to attract visitors, but simply managing the flow with prudence and a long-term vision, both in the arrival of main and secondary tourists”, added the CEO of SPEL-Turismo Lanzarote, Héctor Fernández.
