A woman of about 60 years of age has died of drowning in Playa Dorada, in the south of the island. The event took place at 3:24 p.m. this Friday. At that time, the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received an alert reporting that lifeguards had pulled a woman out of the water who was in cardiorespiratory arrest.

While the health resources arrived, the lifeguards of the aforementioned beach gave her first aid following the instructions received by the coordinating doctor of the SUC present in the Operations Room of 1-1-2.

Upon arriving at the scene, the SUC staff continued cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers without success, so they confirmed her death.

The Civil Guard has taken charge of the body until the arrival of the Judicial Authority. The Local Police has collaborated with the emergency services.
