A 52-year-old man has been injured with a moderate head injury after suffering an accident on the LZ-40 towards Matagorda. The incident took place at approximately 00.30 hours this Wednesday. At that time, the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) was alerted, reporting the overturning of a car, apparently after being hit from behind by another car, in the direction mentioned above.
Later, when the personnel of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium arrived at the scene, they found that it was a rear-end collision involving three cars. Two of them were off the road, while the other was on the shoulder with hardly any damage.
A medicalized ambulance and a basic life support ambulance from the SUC, the firefighters of the Security, Emergency, Rescue, Prevention and Extinction of Fires Service of Lanzarote, Local Police and Civil Guard have traveled to the scene.
The SUC's medical personnel provided initial assistance to the affected person and, after stabilizing him, transferred him to a hospital.
The firefighters disconnected the battery of one of the vehicles, helped the health services to attend to the affected people, and finally, cleaned the road with pressurized water.
The police services have taken charge of the corresponding procedures.
