Tickets to enjoy the 18th edition of the Lanzarote Visual Music Festival are now available from this Monday. The price is 15 euros and can be purchased through the official website of the festival.

This year's program, as usual, includes a careful selection of concerts and high-quality film screenings. All performances will begin at 8:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, October 11, the festival's opening will be in charge of the Danish guitarist Jakob Bro, accompanied by the trumpeter Arve Henriksen and the drummer Joey Baron, with their UMA ELMO project. This trio promises a concert full of whispered and hypnotic melodies in the Jameos del Agua.

On Saturday, October 14, local guitarist Diego Barber, together with the talented pianist Graig Taborn, will offer a performance that promises to be one of the highlights of the festival. They will base their performance on their acclaimed joint work, Tales, an epic dance between guitar and piano, fusing beauty, melody and emotion in an unforgettable sound spectacle.

The second week of the Festival will begin on Wednesday the 18th at the CIC El Almacén with the presentation of Akane, a personal project by Carolina Machado, recognized for her participation in the group Gaf y La Estrella de la Muerte.

With Akane, Machado recreates a fictional soundtrack for a non-existent road movie, exploring her own musical language that mixes vintage pop, lush environmental landscapes and lo-fi electronics. On this occasion, she will be accompanied by the visual work of local artist Pura Márquez.

The following day, again in Jameos del Agua, we will be able to enjoy a trio formed by Christina Vantzou, Michael Harrison and John Also Bennett, who will offer an original and enveloping proposal promising a sound journey full of depth and evocation.

On Friday, October 20, the virtuoso pianist Moisés P. Sánchez will immerse us in his Tractatus project, a work in which music and philosophy intertwine in a fascinating sound exploration that transcends the boundaries of genres.

Finally, on Saturday, October 21, the closing of the concert program will be held in the Cueva de los Verdes. The Polish cellist Dobrawa Czocher will present her work Dreamscapes, a musical exploration of dreams, taking us on a journey through the unconscious through repetitive motifs, improvised arpeggios and mysterious bass lines that paint fantastic soundscapes.

Documentary film

In addition to the concerts, the program is enriched with the screening of the documentary Island Songs, on Tuesdays, October 10 and 17 at 8:00 p.m. in the Buñuel cinema hall of the CIC El Almacén. This audiovisual portrait of Iceland by the musician Ólafur Arnalds, invites us to explore the people, places and music of this island land.

The Lanzarote Visual Music Festival is an initiative of the Culture Area of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, and has the support of Turismo Lanzarote and the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism.

Created and organized by the Cabildo de Lanzarote in 1989, at the proposal of the artist Ildefonso Aguilar, the Lanzarote Visual Music Festival is a meeting of reference for contemporary music and other avant-garde artistic expressions, in complete harmony with the natural spaces of the island, such as the auditoriums of Jameos del Agua or the Cueva de los Verdes.
