The Sociedad de Cultura Recreo y Deportes Torrelavega, fulfilling the program of its 75th Anniversary, offered its members and the general public the concert "Étnico" on Thursday night, starring two authentic musical references of their generation, Benito Cabrera and José Manuel Ramos, who have carried out numerous joint projects throughout their lives.

"Étnico" is a concert where Cabrera and Ramos take a journey through the heart of music and couplets with Canarian roots, the ones that the great singers have always sung. A legacy that, thanks to new generations like Benito and José Manuel, is maintained over time.

The audience that filled the capacity of the Torrelavega Society enjoyed a very varied repertoire where the complicity of both performers infected them, not only with their music and song, but also, with the mastery that characterizes them, each piece was polished with a rich historical content.

Benito Cabrera, a virtuoso of the timple, and José Manuel Ramos, guitar and voice, chose the most representative of Canarian folklore such as the folías, the malagueñas or the isas, both interspersed with compositions by Cabrera himself such as "Canto a la Lucha Canaria y a la Vela Latina", among others.

The pair of artists chose to end the concert with a medley of isas that was accompanied by clapping from the audience, who were very animated and asked them to continue, a request that they satisfied with an encore.
