The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has escalated the warning for high temperatures in Lanzarote, La Graciosa and the rest of the Canary Islands from yellow to orange for Saturday, August 9. This was reported by the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium this Thursday. In principle, the warning will last from 10:00 in the morning until 8:00 in the afternoon.
For the moment, Lanzarote and La Graciosa are the only ones in the archipelago that remain without warnings this Thursday and Friday, so it will be on Saturday when they begin to notice the passage of the heat wave more strongly. In an update issued at 10:30 in the morning, Aemet has decided to change from a yellow warning to an orange one.
According to the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), the island could reach a maximum of 42 degrees next Sunday. Specifically, in the municipality of Tías. The rest of the municipalities would also be affected by the high temperatures with maximums of 41 degrees in Teguise, 40 in Arrecife, as well as 38 in Haría and Yaiza, and 37 in Tinajo.
ADVANCE. PENDING EXTENSION.
