The Lanzarote progressive rock band Óxido, led by guitarist Antonio Montelongo, has managed to simultaneously break in as a candidate in the two most prestigious events in the music industry in Spain: the Independent Music Awards and the Awards of the Academy of Music of Spain. The group has done so through its new single: Encrucijada.
This double recognition positions Óxido at the forefront of the national scene, competing with the best of independent and academic production in the country. "Encrucijada is not just a song; it is the banner of a mature, technical progressive rock loaded with identity that has managed to break geographical borders to seduce specialized critics," Xonix Records record label stated in a press release.
The band has pointed out the "sonic excellence" of this release and has highlighted that it has "a luxury signature": the production of the renowned Galician producer Lolo Arincón. "His masterful hand has known how to polish the power of Óxido, elevating the band's sound to an international standard that is already bearing fruit even before the release of their long-awaited new album," it has highlighted.At the same time, they have indicated that Crossroads is just the first warning of what is to come. "This song is part of their new album, which will be released shortly and promises to consolidate Óxido as the benchmark for progressive rock born in the Canary Islands," they have indicated.

With this union, the label has affirmed that the Lanzarote band ensures "a distribution and support befitting their career, integrating into the label's stable that is redefining the independent scene in both territories".
