The Government of the Canary Islands acquires the Casa Torres in Teguise

This Tuesday, the Deputy Ministry of Culture and Heritage will present the project to which this 18th-century building will be allocated.

The Deputy Ministry of Culture and Cultural Heritage will present this Tuesday, March 21, at 11:30 a.m., the first phase of the cultural and museum project that is intended to be implemented in the Casa Torres, an 18th-century building recently acquired by the Government of the Canary Islands.

Casa Torres aims to be a center for cultural and heritage activities, such as an ethnographic museum of Lanzarote, an art and exhibition hall, and other cultural uses such as theater, dance, or concerts.

After the presentation, there will be a tour of the property with the director of the museographic project, in which the prior ideas on the feasibility of musealizing this space will be explained, in addition to showing the different rooms of the two-story manor house and the elements preserved inside.

The event will be attended by the Deputy Minister of Culture and Cultural Heritage, Juan Márquez; the General Director of Cultural Heritage, Nona Perera, the Mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, and the director of the exhibition project, Valentín Barroso.
