The Canary Islands Music Festival, within its 'En Paralelo' program, proposes a journey through time through 'The Forgotten Sounds', an exciting show by the luthier and multi-instrumentalist Abraham Cupeiro.

Cupeiro, creator of unique concerts, will perform in Lanzarote on Friday, January 28th at the Teatro El Salinero de Lanzarote. accompanied by a chamber group from the Las Palmas Symphony Orchestra.

'The Forgotten Sounds' will allow us to listen to musical instruments from other eras and cultures, some built and others preserved by this original Galician musician. Because if there is one thing that characterizes Cupeiro, it is his determination to recover instruments lost in time to use them in creating new sounds and embedding them in music foreign to them. Classically trained, he has always been very attracted to all kinds of music and his musical interests have always gone in this research and dissemination direction.

His unique collection of instruments includes more than 200 specimens from different places and times, and he also recovers and builds others. He interprets with them from his music to works of today, in fusion with all kinds of formations.

As an instrumentalist, he stands out for being one of the few people who plays the Karnyx (Celtic trumpet from the Iron Age) and was recently invited to test the Tintignac Karnyx, which is the only one that appeared whole in 2004. He is also a promoter of an ancestral instrument in the Galician tradition: the corna. An instrument that his grandfather played and that appears in the illuminations of Alfonso X.

Abraham Cupeiro's activity is summarized in about 80 annual concerts with different orchestras around the world, collaborations with universities and his recent collaboration in the world of cinema with 14th Street Music, producer of the Oscar winner Hans Zimmer.

Tickets are available on the festival website (www.icdcultural.org/fimc) and on the usual sales platforms of these spaces at a price of 10 euros.
