The Chico Cuatro Esquinas Theater of the Parranda Marinera de Buches once again demonstrated last Saturday, June 13, its growing importance as a cultural and community space in the Argana Baja neighborhood. Nearly 250 people completely filled the venue to attend the end-of-course concert of the Toñín Corujo Music School, held starting at 12:00 PM.

Families, students, teachers, and the public of different generations shared a morning marked by music, emotion, and a festive atmosphere. From the first minutes, the stage of the Chico Cuatro Esquinas Theater became a meeting place for performers of different ages and training levels, many of whom were able to showcase the work developed during the course to a completely full house.

The concert brought together voices, timples, guitars, percussion, bass, and drums, along with various individual and collective performances. The repertoire ranged from traditional Canarian music and waltzes to pop, rock, film music, and different contemporary compositions. This diversity reflected the open nature of the Toñín Corujo Music School and its commitment to training that combines technical learning, creativity, coexistence, and collective enjoyment.

One of the most endearing moments of the day was led by the youngest students, who took the stage accompanied by Toñín Corujo. Their naturalness, enthusiasm, and spontaneity elicited a particularly warm response from the numerous people gathered in the theater.

The Chico Cuatro Esquinas Theater, a cultural space open to the neighborhood

The Chico Cuatro Esquinas Theater is consolidating itself as a dynamic space within Argana Baja, capable of hosting educational, cultural, artistic, and community initiatives. The celebration of this concert stems from the approach of the Parranda Marinera de Buches, a veteran association of Lanzarote folklore, to entities and projects actively working for culture and musical training in Lanzarote.

The collaboration with the Toñín Corujo Music School responds to the desire of the Parranda Marinera de Buches to open its headquarters and facilities to new generations of musicians, foster exchange between groups, and contribute to cultural activity reaching the neighborhoods as well.

For the association, this event represents a new step in the recovery and revitalization of the Teatro Chico Cuatro Esquinas as a place for coexistence, learning, and citizen participation.

The presence of nearly 250 attendees also confirms the need for local cultural spaces where associations, schools, and collectives can publicly present their work.

The absolute sell-out achieved during the event also reflects the capacity of cultural entities to generate community when they share resources, knowledge, and spaces. In this regard, the concert represented much more than the end of an academic year: it was a celebration of the students' effort, the families' support, and the commitment of those who work to keep the island's musical culture alive.
