The El Aljibe Hall in Haría hosted this Tuesday the presentation of the program of the International Festival 'Guitarras en Haría', which will take place from January 18 to 21, bringing to the northern municipality music from the Spanish Renaissance, baroque music and popular Argentine or Andean music.

The Festival, which also includes the painting exhibition by the French plastic artist Jean Marc Fraisse, as well as the conference on the construction of a Spanish guitar by the luthier Santiago Canals, will bring to the north of the Island guitarists of the stature of Santiago Canals (Argentina), Ana Santisteban (Spain), Carlos Aravena (Chile), Luis Alberto Soria (Argentina) and Johan Fostier (Belgium).

The northern Culture Councillor, José Pérez Dorta, pointed out that "Haría has always been characterized by having its own identity that differentiates it from the rest of the Island, reconciling the defense of the historical values of our cultural heritage with aspects of modernity; and it is with this identity purpose that this festival is born." He also announced that they are already working on the next edition, "in which the level and international projection will be maintained, incorporating new spaces."

For his part, the director of the event, Luis Soria, also highlighted during the event that "Haría is a town with its own identity that should not be lost and the style of our festival is in accordance with that personality", adding that "the artists not only come to perform at the festival, but they also like to know the customs of the place and especially interact with its people."

Finally, the mayor of Haría, Marci Acuña, stated in his speech that "culture and education have always been key to the development of the northern municipality, so they have become over time our hallmark." "That is why the celebration of this important festival in Haría comes to ratify once again the love for culture that our people have and fills us with pride that they are already incorporating it into the circuit of festivals that already have international roots and prestige," Acuña stressed.
