The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Youth Area directed by Paula Corujo and together with the Asociación Veintinueve Trece, has announced the #CREAENCASA contest.
The contest, which is aimed at young people from Lanzarote and La Graciosa between 12 and 30 years old, has been convened with the aim of expressing their talent during the quarantine period due to Covid-19.
The president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, invites and encourages young people to participate and thus give visibility to talent and creative and artistic concerns through the visual arts. "This crisis can be an opportunity; that is why this project serves as a means of entertainment and artistic development in this period of confinement. Likewise, I hope that it will also serve as a means of entertainment and artistic development in this period of confinement," she said.
Categories and prizes
The contest has the 'Junior' category with ages between 12 and 17 years, both inclusive, and the 'Master' category, from 18 to 30 years included. "This type of initiative, in addition to seeking motivation for these circumstances, aims to offer motivation and opportunities for the young population to approach the creation of this type of content," said the Councilor of the Youth Area, Paula Corujo.
Likewise, the councilor explained that "each participant may send a maximum of three images or a video with a maximum duration of one minute, the deadline for receipt being Friday, April 24." "Any type of treatment and processing will be admitted in photographs, illustrations, collages, 3d, video, vignettes, etc.," she added.
Images should be sent to: [email protected]. In the event that it is a video and cannot be sent by mail due to its size, a wetransfer download link may be sent.
Together with the images or videos, a word file must be attached indicating the full name of the author, telephone number and date of birth. In the event that the image of a minor appears, an authorization signed by the father, mother or legal guardian must be attached.
The jury, which will be made up of a photography professional, a video professional and an illustration professional, will announce the decision of the contest on Wednesday, April 29. The prize will be a tablet for the winner of the 'Junior' category and a laptop for the winner of the 'Master' category.
