The "most demanding" Ignacio Romero was last Friday at the Benito Pérez Armas House of Culture in Yaiza to share the joy of publishing 'Rowing Between the Lines', which is the personal selection of 83 poems, from his 200 compositions of the last ten years, in that “path of solitude” in which writing sometimes becomes, they explain from the City Council of the southern municipality.

The public of Yaiza embraced Nacho's anthology that makes explicit his commitment to “a more balanced world”. The biologist from Lanzarote rows against the wind and tide using the instrument of his verses “to transmit messages that I have in my head that help to open eyes”, and does not hide his intention and cares less that they pigeonhole him, “we must be ‘contagious’ of nonconformity, but not as a mere complaint, but as constructive criticism to try to improve society”.

His work as an interpreter of the natural and cultural environment has helped him in his role as a writer, from there have emanated many of the verses that he compiles in 'Rowing Between the Lines' with the support of the Ediciones Remotas label, which exercises “the work of accompanying Nacho, with whom it is very easy to work”, points out Rubén Acosta, one of the people in charge of the publishing house.

To present his book in Yaiza, Nacho surrounded himself with people linked to the cultural world, among them, the creators from Yaiza Jaime Quesada, Cintia Machín and César Rijo, who together with four more guests read and interpreted poems by Nacho.

The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, present at the literary evening, confirms “the commitment of our municipality to the different creative expressions. We see it reflected in the cultural life of Yaiza and the increasing participation of the public in concerts, plays, poetry recitals and other manifestations of art and culture in general”.
