The start of the Arrecife City April Fair "has been a success", according to the Arrecife City Council. The José Ramírez Cerdá Park, in the capital of Lanzarote, "has been packed with people, the vast majority of whom are residents of Arrecife and other municipalities on the island" this Friday and Saturday.

The first day of this fair, organized by the Arrecife City Council to boost the capital, began after six in the afternoon with the opening ceremony that included the participation of the city's mayor, Yonathan de León, and the Councilor for Tourism and Commerce, Eli Merino.

The large stage, near which a platform for people in wheelchairs was installed, was located next to the emblematic Music Kiosk, and allowed the thousands of attendees on this first day to enjoy all the performances and exhibitions programmed by the Department of Tourism and Commerce.

The mayor dedicated a few words in his opening to the multiculturalism that characterizes the population of Lanzarote, among which are the residents born in Andalusia and who reside in Arrecife and other municipalities of the Island. For Yonathan de León, the large influx of public that has been registered on this first day endorses the citizen support for this celebration, which is part of the annual program promoted by the Department of Tourism and Commerce to boost the city as the epicenter of leisure.

For her part, the Councilor for Tourism and Commerce, Eli Merino, expressed her joy for the numerous congratulations she has received as councilor of her Department from professionals in the hospitality, tourism and leisure sector, for these initiatives to boost Arrecife, which is achieving high results in tourist occupancy and the relaunch of the capital's hospitality industry as a focus for generating new employment.

The José Ramírez Cerdá Park was packed at night, and the thousands of attendees followed the musical performances of José Manuel Doto and Siempre Allí, as well as the flamenco and dance schools in Lanzarote. The equestrian show along a section of La Avenida La Marina was highly applauded. As night fell, the fair was lit up, which was spectacular. Access to the 'Ferial' is through the gate where the Puente de las Bolas is recreated, one of the great symbols in the history of Arrecife and Lanzarote.

Among the participating groups, in this second edition of the Arrecife City April Fair, MT Dance, Eva Aroca and Arte Flamenco stand out, who will perform at the opening ceremony this Friday, April 5, at 6 p.m. The afternoon and evening will continue with performances by Sentimiento con Arte, the Al Andalus Rociero Choir, Aire de Ketama, and D' Kalite.

The day this Saturday, the 6th, has started at 12 noon, with the show "Voces a Lorca, mi Tierra" dedicated to this distinguished Andalusian writer, and will continue with the performance of Canarias Flamenco Band, which includes a sevillanas workshop.

All afternoon this Saturday, the José Ramírez Cerdá Park has been very crowded by the thousands of tourists who are in the city with the stopover of a large cruise ship, and are watching the equestrian show.

The day on Saturday will continue, in the evening with the performances of Antonio Montes, Antonio de la Rosa Fusión, Azabache, Son de Mimbre, Laura Doreste, Son Flamenco, Tributo a Niña Pastori, Luitingo, R.A.Y.A., Sueño Rociero, María José Madrid & Amigos, and Rumbaleando.
