The Teguise City Council began this Thursday its program of Christmas events with the inauguration of a Nativity Scene designed "with an intimate character" in what was the cistern of the old residence of the priest Melián, promoter of the reform of the church Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe after its fire in 1909, which was later a Nursing School and which currently houses the House of Culture.

The mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, and the Councilor for Culture, Nori Machín, accompanied by their government colleagues, thus welcomed a Christmas program, which in its presentation they described as modest but which includes children's, musical, literary, theatrical initiatives, etc. Some of them can only be enjoyed through the network, but meetings are also proposed with prior invitation and with the health requirements set by Covid-19, trying to ensure that, despite the circumstances, these holidays are lived "with enthusiasm, but with great responsibility."

Within this program, this Friday, December 11, at 7:00 p.m., the presentation of the book 'Confined Shadows', written by the representatives of Letras para el Alma and Literary Thursdays, will take place at the Teguise Municipal Theater, which will donate the donation to Cáritas Parroquial.

On Saturday, December 12, the mayor of Teguise, Oswaldo Betancort, will broadcast the traditional greeting on the City Council's website and social networks at 12 noon to wish his entire municipality a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. On the same Saturday at 7:00 p.m., the official inauguration of the municipal Nativity Scene will take place at the Casa-Museo del Timple (Spínola Palace), and at 8:00 p.m., the first musical event of Teguise will take place with the concert by the Malvasía Sound group (Ciro Corujo, Adrián Niz and José Vicente Pérez), at the Santo Domingo Convent.

On Sunday, December 13, at 12 noon, the children from the schools of Toñín Corujo, Gabriel Cubas and the students of José Vicente Pérez will offer the concert 'Menudos Timplistas' from the Santo Domingo Convent. Invitations for all events can be booked on 928 84 51 81, and the complete program of events can be found at www.teguise.es
