The Sports City of Lanzarote vibrated to the rhythm of the Honor Canario Urban Fest with the highly anticipated performance of Cruz Cafuné, the undisputed star of the night. On the night of Saturday, June 22, more than 7,000 people gathered to enjoy an unforgettable day that not only celebrated urban music, but also Canarian culture and identity.

The prelude to the festival was marked by anticipation and excitement. In the previous days, the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, together with the deputy mayor of Arrecife, Echedey Eugenio, and other members of the Cabildo, such as the Minister of Culture, Jesús Machín, and the head of Youth, Aroa Revelo, were finalizing the details to ensure that the event was a resounding success.

In this sense, the president of the Cabildo, Oswaldo Betancort, conveyed his congratulations to the entire organization and collaborating entities "because we have finally managed to ensure that the young people of Lanzarote and La Graciosa are part of the island's culture and leisure agenda, and the success of this festival - where the talent of our local artists has been given visibility - has been undeniable," he said.

From early in the afternoon, the doors of the Sports City opened to receive thousands of young people who did not want to miss the first "Honor Canario Urban Fest", which began with the performance of some of the best DJ's on the local scene.

After enjoying the performance of the five emerging opening acts selected through the Lz Urban Contest, among which the singer CZeeta was the winner, the most anticipated moment arrived when Cruz Cafuné took the stage and awakened the most urban Canarian feeling among his fans. The Canarian rapper did not disappoint, offering a show that resonated with Canarian pride and identity with emblematic themes and new songs filled the atmosphere with energy and emotion, making the audience sing and dance in unison.

The Minister of Youth, Aroa Revelo, was very grateful for the massive response from young people from all over the island and La Graciosa, "who had been demanding for some time a change in the management of the Area that took into account their tastes and that they were given the opportunity to have fun at a quality event like this that, in addition, promotes the creativity and good work of our young Canarian artists."

For his part, the island's Minister of Culture, Jesús Machín, considered that "the night concluded with a feeling of celebration and success, since the Honor Canario Urban Fest not only met expectations, but left an indelible mark on all attendees, consolidating itself as an essential event for the promotion of Canarian culture and talent. Lanzarote demonstrated once again that it is a place where music, culture, good atmosphere and inclusiveness can be found to create memorable experiences," Machín pointed out.

This first edition also included the presence of the Minister of Culture of the Government of the Canary Islands, Migdalia Machín; as well as the vice president of the Cabildo, Jacobo Medina; the mayor of Arrecife, Yonatán de León, and the deputy mayor of Arrecife and Councilor for Festivities, Echedey Eugenio, who agreed in expressing their satisfaction at seeing how the capital became the epicenter of a new urban music festival that, in addition to offering good music, values the creativity and art of young Canarians.

But the Honor Canario festival not only shone for its musical offer, but also for its commitment to inclusiveness, as proposed by the Area of Social Welfare and Inclusion coordinated by Marci Acuña, highlighting the Orange Point as a support service for people with disabilities, which included sensitive vests for people with hearing limitations, and reserved areas for people with reduced mobility. As well as the Violet Point, on this occasion, by the hand of the LGTBI+ association, "Lánzate".

With more than 300 people in charge of security and organization, the event implemented various measures to ensure that all attendees could enjoy the experience, thanks to the coordination of the Consortium of Security and Emergencies of Lanzarote, whose head is Francisco Aparicio, and also to the deployment of State Security Forces and Corps, which guaranteed that the musical day took place with total normality.
