The painter María de los Ángeles Courel Pérez inaugurated her exhibition 'Exploring' last Friday, being the first time that she exhibits her works in the heart of Teguise, specifically in the House of Culture.

At the inauguration, which was attended by the Councilor for Culture of the Teguise City Council, Olivia Duque, María de los Ángeles explained in great detail the content of her paintings and the challenge that 'Exploring' has posed for her. It is a journey in time that began about two and a half years ago when she decided to start painting with acrylic out of mere curiosity and in a self-taught way with the help of tutorials and that eventually became a passion. Some of her paintings are inspired by the photographs that she herself has taken on some of the trips she has visited to countries such as India, Morocco, Vietnam, Cambodia or Thailand, among others.
As María de los Ángeles explained in her presentation, her university studies and her work have no relation to art. For that reason, she considers herself a learner in the field of painting, which she usually explores when her time allows.

Both the paintings and the framing of the paintings have been done by herself in order to complete a very personal presentation. Olivia Duque congratulated her for this initiative and for having chosen the Casa de la Cultura de Teguise to exhibit her exhibition called 'Exploring', which can be visited until May 5, from Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
