The Culture Area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, led by Councilor Jesús Machín Tavío, in collaboration with the municipalities of Arrecife and San Bartolomé, is launching a new edition of Across Hip-Hop, a free project that uses urban dance as a tool for social integration, cultural promotion, and personal development of young people between 13 and 20 years old. The activities, directed by Que Tal Estás Producciones, will take place between January 27 and June 28, 2025.

In the press conference held this Tuesday in the plenary hall of the Cabildo, the Councilor for Education, Ascensión Toledo, has emphasized the importance of this project that "not only promotes artistic learning but also creates an inclusive space where young people can develop their creativity, strengthen their self-esteem, and learn essential values such as discipline and companionship."

Natalia Medina, director of the project, expressed her gratitude to the Cabildo for "launching this new edition of Across Hip-Hop, a project that uses urban dance to teach values such as tolerance, respect, and teamwork. We firmly believe in the power of dance to transform lives and connect people with their environment. The most important thing for us is to see their transformation throughout the program."

The project also receives the support of the Culture departments of Arrecife and San Bartolomé; and therefore, the councilors Abigail González and Carmen Medina also attended the presentation of the 2025 edition of the project.

Program of this edition

The program will have two training groups. In Arrecife, the classes will take place in the Argana Baja Sociocultural Center, while in San Bartolomé they will take place in the Multipurpose Room of the Plaza de Santa Elena. In both cases, young people will enjoy two weekly classes taught by specialized professionals, focusing on urban dance styles such as new style, popping, and locking.

In addition, parallel activities have been incorporated this year, including a collaboration with a psychologist who will offer additional support to young people. The project is committed to creating an environment where each student feels valued and part of a collective.

Registration is free and will be open until January 28, 2025 on the official website of the project.
