The Plaza de El Almacén in Arrecife will host the first edition of the Órbitas Festival on October 28, a meeting of young culture, organized by the Education and Youth areas of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, which will feature an extensive program of artistic, social and activism activities. “Festival Órbitas is born with the illusion that youth occupies space, to inspire each other in a bidirectional way”, explains Lana Corujo, coordinator of the festival.
The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. so that all those educational centers on the island that wish to do so can attend with their students in the morning, and will extend until 10:00 p.m. for young people who want to continue enjoying the activities after classes.

In addition to talks on the stage, where topics such as the importance of care, the voice of young people in activism and diversity will be addressed, there will be four booths where different activities will be developed under the following themes: creativity, activism, barter and open mic. “What is proposed is an active festival model, where participants can consume activities according to their preferences,” says Barros.
The performance of the rapper Miss Raisa stands out, who will be in charge of putting an end to the first edition of the festival.
“This festival is conceived as a pioneering meeting in offering activities and resources to the youth of Lanzarote, delving into their needs and aspirations as a generation,” says Myriam Barros, Councilor for Youth and Education of the island corporation, who invites the young people of the island to enjoy this event, in which there will be different conferences and workshops.
In addition, throughout the day there will be a barter space, where different emerging artists from the island will be able to exchange their works.
