The energy, rhythm and color of the Carnival of Lanzarote will travel to the French city of Nice in one of the most emblematic events in Europe, its Carnival. The batucada, known for its contagious rhythm and vibrant staging, is preparing to represent the island with a series of performances full of joy and enthusiasm, faithful to the carnival spirit that characterizes it. The group has been selected to bring its samba and percussion proposal to the heart of the Nice Carnival, which this year will celebrate its 152nd edition.
A pride for Lanzarote
Villa Pipol's participation in this recognized international event is "a great pride" for Lanzarote, since, through this performance, the island will have the opportunity to showcase its culture, traditions and the strength of its groups. "It is an honor to be able to represent our island in such a high-level event. We are very excited about this unique experience, which is not only an opportunity for us as a group, but also to promote Lanzarote internationally," said the director of the batucada, Iván Carmona.
Since its formation in 1998, Villa Pipol has worked to consolidate itself as one of the most important and representative batucadas in Lanzarote and the Canary Islands. With a musical proposal that combines Brazilian percussion and African rhythm, the group has conquered numerous stages inside and outside of Spain. For the group, "their participation in the Nice Carnival is a further demonstration of their constant growth and commitment to the promotion of Canarian culture internationally."
Over the next few days, the musicians will be tuning their instruments, rehearsing choreographies and finalizing details to offer the best of themselves on the red carpet of the French carnival.
Likewise, they argue that Villa Pipol's participation "will not only be an opportunity to share the local talent of Lanzarote, but also to strengthen cultural ties between the Canary Islands and the French Riviera region." Throughout the week of festivities in the French town, the group will be able to interact with other groups from around the world, exchanging experiences and knowledge about the different carnival traditions that exist in every corner of the planet.
The Nice Carnival, celebrated every year on the Côte d'Azur, is one of the most important in the world. With its colorful parade, giant floats, masks and vibrant music, the French city is filled with a festive atmosphere that attracts thousands of tourists. This year, Villa Pipol joins the celebration with the hope of leaving its mark on this historic festivity.
