Olivia Stone (1856-1898) was an Irish traveler and writer. She wrote two travel books Norway in June, published in 1882, and Tenerife and its six satellites published in 1887, based on the trip she made through the Canary Islands in 1883 and 1884. She was married to the English lawyer and photography enthusiast, John Harris Stone, who accompanied her on her travels. The numerous images he took during his adventures through the Canary Islands inspired the pen illustrations that accompany this work. So great was Olivia Stone's love for the Canary archipelago that she named the house in which they both lived in Dover 'Fuerteventura'.
