Lanzarote and La Graciosa will once again transmit the Christmas spirit this December in the musical events planned for this new edition of Navidad Isleña. The program of performances and concerts that will tour all corners of the island will extend until December 31.
This event was presented this Friday in the Plenary Hall of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, by the hand of the president Oswaldo Betancort, and the Minister of Culture, Jesús Machín, accompanied by the heads of Culture of all the municipalities.
"Navidad Isleña arrives punctually to its appointment to wrap Lanzarote in traditional music, folklore and Christmas songs that enhance our cultural heritage in these endearing dates," said the president during his speech, expressing his satisfaction for the union of all public administrations and the desire of the various musical groups on the island that will sound again and will grow and continue to consolidate a Christmas with the purest island style," added Betancort.
For his part, the Minister of Culture, Jesús Machín Tavío, also thanked all the musical groups and each of the municipalities of the island "for the care with which they always embrace this musical program that, in addition, this year has the novelty of the incorporation of the municipal bands".
Island Christmas continues to grow
Navidad Isleña comprises a wide program of musical events focused on the maximum expression of popular culture, which will tour from this Friday the streets and squares of Arrecife, Teguise, Tinajo, San Bartolomé, Tías, Yaiza, Haría and La Graciosa, with the parrandas, choirs, ranchos de Pascua and folk groups as protagonists.
In this year's edition, in addition, the work of the municipal music bands is incorporated, which during the year perform a commendable work of teaching this artistic expression.
