The renowned timple player Domingo Rodríguez Oramas ‘El Colorao’ will perform next Thursday, June 26 in Femés as the culmination of the exhibition dedicated to this musical instrument, a symbol of Canarian identity and folklore, which has been housed in the Casona de Femés since April and will close on June 30.
Initially planned in the Casona, the concert is finally moved to the Plaza de San Marcial to offer a larger capacity, thus allowing a greater number of people to enjoy this promising musical evening with one of the greatest exponents of the timple, whose career has taken the echoes of Canarian music to national and international stages.
The Councilor for Culture of Yaiza, César Rijo, encourages people to attend this recital “which is a gift for our town and for every lover of our culture.”
The exhibition El timple, ecos de la identidad can be visited until June 30 at the Casona de Femés, free of charge, from Tuesday to Friday, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Curated by Daniel Morales and coordinated by the renowned timple player José Vicente Pérez, it is the result of collaboration between the town councils of Yaiza and Tías.
