Cristina Ramos was the last singer to take the stage on Sunday at the Sunset Canarias Festival and was dismissed "with a thunderous ovation and the public standing", according to the Yaiza City Council. The show took place in the tourist town of Playa Blanca, where Andy y Lucas also participated last Thursday and Nía, the former contestant of Operación Triunfo, on Friday.

Ramos, accompanied by her team of eight people on stage, including musicians, backing singers and dancers, performed lyrical music, boleros and rock, "although artists are always advised that we cannot sing everything", in any case, talent and versatility that led her to win the first edition of Got Talent Spain in 2016, thus launching her creative career and winning La Voz in Mexico: "and what a joy and emotion to be able to represent the Canary Islands."

The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, declares that "the manifest support of our people gives greater meaning to the reception of the Sunset Festival", a commitment that adds to the program of cultural dissemination in Yaiza that touches on different artistic expressions such as theater, plastic arts, literature, and of course, both lyrical and popular music.

The Councilor for Culture of Yaiza, Daniel Medina, maintains that "you only have to review the proposals of the last month to see that the support for culture in Yaiza is not a bluff. The public's verdict with their attendance and the clamor of the artists, such as Cristina Ramos, who at the end of her concert launched almost a plea with her "may culture continue", are messages that encourage us to enrich the cultural offer".

Nía also excels in Playa Blanca

"Another young and talented Canarian singer surprised in the south of Lanzarote, Nía, and she did so with a repertoire clearly fueled by Afro-Caribbean music," explain from the council. Nía and her band offered salsa, boleros, son, rancheras and all the energy transmitted by the fusion and legacy of the rhythms of the Caribbean, "melodies that ate the stage personified in the figure of Nía, who not only writes beautiful lyrics and sings, but also dances wonderfully", says the town hall.

"The Sunset Canarias Festival offered high-level shows with high participation, but it also moved consumption to the satisfaction of our local economy. The bars and restaurants around the square were packed all three days of the show," concludes Councilor Daniel Medina.
