The municipality of Tías is positioned, one more year, as a cultural reference on the island thanks to its firm involvement with the Lanzarote Literature Festival (FDLL), which this year celebrates its third edition under the slogan Letters of rofe and salt. The mayor, José Juan Cruz, and the Councilor for Culture, Pepa González, affirm that this festival "consolidates our municipality as a living space for creation and reflection."

The El Fondeadero Civic Center in Puerto del Carmen and the Tías Municipal Theater will be the setting for some of the most anticipated talks of the festival, with leading literary figures such as Fernando Aramburu (Thursday, October 9, 7:30 p.m.), Elizabeth Duval (Thursday, October 16, 7:30 p.m.), Cristina Fernández Cubas (Tuesday, October 28, 7:30 p.m.) and Sergio del Molino (Thursday, November 6, 7:30 p.m.).

They are all part of a list of reference authors that is completed with the outstanding participations of Mónica Ojeda (Wednesday, November 19, 7:30 p.m.) and Ignacio Martínez de Pisón (Wednesday, December 3, 7:30 p.m.), whose talks will take place in the neighboring municipality of Yaiza. The talks will be moderated by the writer and director of the festival, Carlos Battaglini.

Thanks to this collaboration, Tías will host writers who represent the most outstanding of the contemporary narrative scene, turning the municipality into a meeting point between authors and citizens. This synergy between the festival and the municipality projects Tías as a literary reference inside and outside the Canary Islands.

"We are proud that Tías is part of this network of cultural dialogue that builds bridges between authors and readers. Betting on the Lanzarote Literature Festival is betting on thought, word and encounter," declares Pepa González.

The Lanzarote Literature Festival will be held between October 9 and December 3, 2025, with activities in Arrecife, Yaiza and Tías. The talks will be free and by prior registration from the official website of the festival.
