The Prosecutor's Office asks for 15 years of prison for an accused of raping a minor of 14 years in Costa Teguise

The Prosecutor's Office requests that he be disqualified from exercising parental authority over his children and that he be disqualified from any profession, trade or activities that involve regular contact with minors.

The Second Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas will judge next week A.A.T.G., an accused of raping a minor of age, fourteen years old, in Costa Teguise.

According to the indictment of the Prosecutor's Office, the events date back to the early morning of April 6, 2024, when the accused A.A.T.G., after spending a night out partying in a nightclub in the tourist town of Costa Teguise, coincided with the victim and allegedly took advantage of the fact that she was under the influence of alcohol and had her will annulled, to sexually assault her. 

The Public Prosecutor's Office considers the accused A.A.T.G. the perpetrator of a crime of sexual assault of a minor under sixteen years of age. Therefore, it requests for him a sentence of fifteen years in prison, with absolute disqualification for the duration of the sentence, the prohibition from approaching within 500 meters of the victim, their relatives or other persons determined by the judge, their home, place of work or any other place where they may be for ten years.  

At the same time, the Prosecutor's Office requests that the supervised release measure be imposed against him for ten years after leaving prison and the obligation to participate in sex education programs. In addition, it requests that he be disqualified from exercising parental authority, guardianship, curatorship, custody or foster care for ten years and that he be disqualified from any profession, trade or activities that involve regular contact with minors for ten years. 

Likewise, it requests that the minor be indemnified with 20,000 euros in concept of civil liability for the moral damages caused.
