The community of neighbors of the building located at number nine of Avenida Fred Olsen in Arrecife has denounced at the Local Police station and has informed the council several times that the premises that houses the PaleoTraining allegedly carries out an activity different from the one it notified when the license was granted. In addition to causing "noises and vibrations" that affect the neighbors and the property.
According to the complaints to which La Voz has had access, this room, used as a functional sports gym, was opened by the company Bepaleo S.L.U. under the activity of "physiotherapy/bar" and its owner renounced to exploit it as a bar. A neighbor already notified in April 2016 that the premises were operating as a gym without the required authorization for classified activities and asked the council to check its situation.
On July 27, 2016, the Arrecife City Council decreed the immediate and voluntary closure of the premises and withdrew the voluntary declaration, but it was not closed then, according to the neighbors themselves notified the council.
Currently, after several notifications to the council "without response", according to the neighbors have denounced, the premises continue to be used as a gym based on the paleo training method. The community of neighbors has requested "on several occasions" and through electronic headquarters to the City Council to verify if it complies with the law and if it has changed the activity. For its part, from the council have assured La Voz that "they are moving" to analyze the entire file of the premises.
In addition, the community of neighbors denounced last May 2023 before the Local Police that the establishment causes "annoyances due to constant noises and vibrations" in the homes that are located above, from 7:00 in the morning and until 9:00 at night during the week, and between 8:00 and 13:00 hours, on Saturdays.
In addition, in complaints addressed to the council, it has pointed out "that the enormous blows with large wooden logs that are used" make "rest impossible" and accuses the owner of the premises of causing "structural damage" to the building with these blows.
Regarding the damage to the structure of the building, they have shown videos of the building's garage in which cracks can be seen in the ceiling. In the same images, blows and the sound of objects being dragged can be heard.
The community of neighbors is considering taking the conflict to court, if the Arrecife council continues without responding to their information requests. For their part, sources from the council have assured La Voz that "they are studying the case".
