The woman arrested in 2015 in Lanzarote accused of recruiting girls for the Islamic State has been sentenced to six years in prison after admitting the facts during the trial held this Monday by the National Court
The Public Prosecutor's Office requested a 10-year prison sentence for Silvia Celestín, but the defendant reached an agreement with the Prosecutor's Office after admitting that she was part of the women's recruitment apparatus based in Syria in Spain, managing to reduce her sentence by four years. However, she must also serve 10 years of supervised release once she leaves prison.
