The airline Jet2.com celebrated this Tuesday the launch of its new route between Lanzarote and Luton Airport in London.
Passengers on the flight departing from Lanzarote at 11:40 were surprised with pastries and cookies after checking in, in addition to being received by the airport director and airline executives.
This new route will contribute to the growth in Lanzarote of the airline, which will reach 230,000 seats offered, with a peak of 39 weekly flights this summer.
For the Canary Islands as a whole, Jet2 will add more than 126,000 seats. Last year, 2.4 million passengers arrived in the archipelago on Jet2 planes.
Thus, the company calculates the number of potential tourists who will be able to arrive in the archipelago with Jet2.com this summer at more than 1.6 million, 8% more than in the summer of 2024.
