The podcast 'Simulacro,' produced by the Ministry of Tourism and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands through Tourism of the Canary Islands, won the Ondas Award for Best Branded Content.

The jury chose this sound production for "the ambition of the material recorded on the islands and for connecting the script with the natural landscapes of the Canary Islands, making them an essential part of its plot." The IV Ondas Global Podcast Awards, the most important awards in Spanish with more than 1,160 nominations from sixteen countries, will be presented in Madrid on July 9.

"It is the third award we have received thanks to this product of recognized quality, in which we give the destination a leading role in an innovative, creative, and entertaining way," explains the Minister of Tourism, Jéssica de León. Last year, 'Simulacro' won two awards: Best Branded Podcast at the iVoox 2024 awards and Gold for Best Branded Content Campaign at the W!N awards, awarded by the Association of Communication Consultancies.

De León highlights how it has managed to "have a large and varied audience travel through the eight islands for three and a half hours, discovering in an entertaining and different way the uniqueness and beauty of the unique landscapes of the Canary Islands."

This suspense thriller, co-produced with the award-winning podcast label El Extraordinario, has achieved 1.2 million listens and has a high level of retention, managing to maintain the attention of 85% of the followers who listen to the first chapter, a percentage that rises to 95% from chapter two, from which it is already 100% until reaching the tenth chapter.

This fiction created by screenwriter Julio Rojas was ranked fourth in the Top 10 New Shows of 2024 on Apple Podcasts, and Spotify also included it in its selection of Best New Shows of last year. Precisely, on this platform, it continues to receive very positive reviews from users, with 1,400 ratings and a score of 4.8 stars out of five.
